Our Hygiene Department
There are many reasons to make a dental appointment. If it has been a while since you’ve been to the dentist, you should know that Smilestylers is committed to being totally honest with you about your dental health. You deserve to know. We recommend that all of our patients begin some kind of regular hygiene routine.
A good dental hygiene routine is needed to protect your perfect smile. You need to keep your gums in the pink! Utilizing the very latest in technologies, Smilestylers will determine the health status of your gums and oral soft tissues.
Once your condition is determined, Dr. Hoffman and our dental hygienist will describe the recommended hygienic program to best meet your needs and/or which will bring your gums back to a healthy state, as it may affect your overall cardiovascular health and possible diabetes implications. The goal is to avoid further periodontal problems that may necessitate periodontal surgical procedures or loss of teeth. Dr. Hoffman is a highly-trained and experienced professional. His first examinations always include a thorough discussion with you about your general health and any existing special conditions.
You may then be enrolled in a non-surgical soft-tissue management program which will keep your gums healthy and help you avoid further periodontal problems that may necessitate a periodontal surgical procedure.
Take a simple quiz to determine the level of your gingival (gums) health:
- Do your gums bleed when brushing or flossing?

- Are your gums receding? Teeth looking longer?
- Are your gums puffy?
- Have gums started overgrowing the teeth?
- Do you feel comfortable about your breath? Halitosis?
- Do you use any mouthwashes?
If you answered yes to some of these questions, consider making an appointment with our Hygiene Department for an exam today.
